Every statement traces to two things: astronomy computed deterministically to the degree, and a classical rule shown with its citation. The language model interprets; it never computes the astrology. The landing page's own words: "Accurate Jyotish, without the wait. Ask about your chart and get a grounded answer in moments — computed to the degree, traced to classical sources, and paired with clear direction on what to do next. Tendencies and timing, never doom." ### What it holds to - **Computed, not guessed.** Every chart is exact math from your birth time and place — Swiss Ephemeris, Pushya-paksha ayanamsa. The same details always give the same chart. - **Sourced, not invented.** Interpretations trace back to classical texts and are shown with their citation. No invented Sanskrit, no rules conjured on the spot. - **Tendencies, not verdicts.** Jyotish as a language of timing and likelihood — windows you can prepare for, with their limits named. Never doom, never "you will". An example of the difference. Fatalism says: "Saturn will wreck your career in 2027." KP work always uses the KP ayanamsa. - **Birth-time rectification.** Candidate birth times, when the recorded time is uncertain. - **People and relationships.** Several people per account, with relationships between them, life events and a journal so readings are fitted to the subject's life stage and circumstances rather than issued as generic paragraphs. - **Reports.** A free one-page shareable report computed deterministically with no AI, and a detailed natal PDF report for 10 credits. - **Evidence you can inspect.** Each reading exposes the groundwork behind it — the placements and the classical rules that produced it — free, without paywalling the reasoning. A second-opinion option asks for the reading to be re-examined. - **Sharing.** A reading can be shared as a public snapshot link. ### What it will not do - Predict death, illness, or catastrophe — Jyotish isn't built for that, and neither is VedicStars. - Hide an uncertain birth time. When the time is shaky, the reading says so and names what is and isn't reliable. - Pretend the texts agree when they don't. Where classical sources differ, you see the difference. - Hand out generic advice. Because the Vedic day runs sunrise to sunrise, the answer genuinely differs between cities: near a transition, two cities can be on different tithis for the same date. Geocentric, so unlike the panchang these do not depend on location. Re-rendered every ten minutes. ### Sade Sati, by Moon sign — https://my.vedicstars.app/sade-sati Which Moon signs are currently running Sade Sati, computed from Saturn's actual sidereal position, with a page per sign at `/sade-sati/`: `aries`, `taurus`, `gemini`, `cancer`, `leo`, `virgo`, `libra`, `scorpio`, `sagittarius`, `capricorn`, `aquarius`, `pisces`. Needs no birth time: Sade Sati depends only on the Moon sign. - Sade Sati is Saturn transiting the 12th, 1st or 2nd sign from the natal Moon, about seven and a half years in three phases: rising (12th), peak (1st), setting (2nd). - Saturn in the 4th or 8th from the Moon is a *different* transit — kantaka shani and ashtama shani, together "dhaiya" — which is very commonly mislabelled as Sade Sati. These pages state the difference. - The Moon sign must be the **sidereal** one. The chart is computed once and cached. You can add several people and the relationships between them. 2. **Ask.** Questions are answered by an AI layer that calls into the deterministic chart engine for every number, then interprets the structured result against a corpus of classical rules retrieved with citations. 3. **Check the working.** Open the groundwork behind any reading: the placements and the rules, each with its source. Give feedback on a reading; tell it what to remember. A chart is a pure function of birth datetime (UTC), latitude, longitude, ayanamsa and chart type. The same details always produce the same chart. ## Correctness principles - **All chart math is deterministic**, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris and verified against Jagannatha Hora reference charts. No astrology is ever computed by a language model. - **The default ayanamsa is Pushya-paksha** (P.V.R. Narasimha Rao's), overridable per person to Lahiri or True Chitra. The setting is per person, so one chart reads consistently everywhere, and any two-chart comparison is read in a single frame. - **Classical references are delivered with citations and are never invented.** Sanskrit quotes are not fabricated. - **No fear-framing or fatalism.** Jyotish is treated as a symbolic language of tendencies and timing — windows, never doom. --- ## Pricing Usage is prepaid credits, priced in Indian Rupees. Card details never reach VedicStars' servers. ### Refunds - Every purchase is a one-time payment. There is nothing to cancel. - **Change of mind:** unused credits from a purchase are refundable within 7 days of that purchase, pro rata to what is unspent. - **Full refund whenever you tell us:** if you were charged more than once or in error; if payment succeeded but credits never arrived; if a fault on our side consumed credits without producing a reading (restored or refunded, your choice); or if we close your account for a reason that is not your breach of the terms. - **No refund** because a reading was not what you hoped to hear, or a described tendency did not come to pass. One VedicStars account, a "Jyotish ID", works across VedicStars and VedicStars Gurukul; the session cookie is scoped across vedicstars.app. - **Birth data is treated as sensitive.** Date, time and place (stored as a name plus coordinates) and the chosen ayanamsa are held to compute charts on VedicStars' own servers. It is never sold, never used to build advertising profiles, and never shared with advertisers. - **Readings are generated by a language model.** The conversation and the already-computed chart data are sent to Google's Gemini API for interpretation; the model never performs the astronomical calculation. - **Services involved:** Neon (database), Fly.io (hosting), Google (Gemini API and Google Sign-In), Resend (sign-in codes and service email), Razorpay (payments), Mixpanel (product analytics), Meta Pixel (ad measurement: page views and sign-up events only; birth details and reading contents are never sent to Meta). - **Other people you add:** you are responsible for having their permission; their records belong to your account and are visible only to you. - **Deletion:** individual people, charts, conversations and journal entries can be deleted in the app. Whole-account deletion by emailing kkammaje@gmail.com from the sign-up address is completed within 30 days, including added people's birth details and cached charts. - **Rights:** access, correction, deletion, objection and withdrawal of consent, answered within 30 days, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, with GDPR rights acknowledged for EU and UK users. - **Age:** 18 or over. - The app runs in any browser and installs as a PWA. --- ## Frequently asked **What does VedicStars cost?** About ₹10 a chat — the lowest in the industry, for the most accurate readings. It also names its limits: it won't predict death, illness, or catastrophe, and it won't hide an uncertain birth time. --- ## Key facts about Jyotish - Jyotish (Vedic astrology) is the traditional Indian system of astronomy and astrology. It uses the **sidereal** zodiac, fixed against the stars, unlike the tropical zodiac of Western astrology — which is why a Vedic sun sign often differs from a Western one. - The North Indian kundali is drawn as a diamond-within-a-square with twelve fixed houses; the South Indian chart is a fixed grid of signs.
